It’s hard to believe just how many Irish pubs pop up in the most unexpected places—and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia is no exception! This bustling city, known for its vibrant mix of cultures, can takes the Irish spirit seriously. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated here in some spots with as much enthusiasm as in Dublin itself.

On March 17th, we found ourselves right in the middle of the action in Pavilion KLCC with shamrocks, Guinness galore, and even a live show of traditional Irish line dancing! 🍻 The rhythmic stomps and twirls of the dancers, dressed in vibrant green, added an extra layer of magic to the celebrations. Everyone—locals, expats, travelers—seemed to channel their inner Irish, joining the party like it was Dublin’s own. We soaked up the lively atmosphere, pint in hand, surrounded by green hats, cheery music, and plenty of laughs. Who would’ve thought KL could celebrate St. Paddy’s with so much heart?
It’s incredible to think how far Irish pubs and their festive spirit have traveled—there must be hundreds, (maybe thousands?), across the world! Wherever you go, they’re there, ready to bring people together. If you’re ever in KL on St. Paddy’s, don’t miss the Irish pubs. And if it’s not March? No worries—there’s always an Irish pub nearby, waiting to welcome us with a big “Sláinte!” 🥳☘️
