Unforgettable NYE 2012-2013 at Hard Rock Cafe Penang

My experience with the bands playing at Hard Rock Cafe is often amazing, and the New Year’s Eve party of 2012-2013 in Hard Rock Cafe Penang was no exception. I don’t remember ever disliking a band there. While they may not always be exceptional instrumentalists, they often make up for it with their energy, passion, joy of playing, and great interaction with the audience. This was exactly the case with the band “Deviate,” a Filipino-Indonesian group that made the night truly unforgettable.

The band delivered a diverse repertoire, covering everything from rock classics to the latest hits on radio playlists. Their performances were incredibly inspiring, with strong vocals, perfect synchronization, and an energy that got everyone on their feet, dancing the night away. One standout moment was their cover of Adele’s Someone Like You—easily one of the best renditions I’ve ever heard. The entire room was mesmerized, and it’s a memory I still cherish to this day.

If anyone has videos of their performance, especially from that night, please do share! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find much information about the band online, but I’m eager to follow their journey and catch them at future concerts. I’ll definitely keep searching! 🙂
